Family Hike - 1/2 Marathon - 10K Run

The Save Mount Diablo Trail Adventure presented by Chevron offers a Half-Marathon, 10K Run, and Family Hike beginning at Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek, climbing the fire roads up the slopes of Mount Diablo and finishing at Castle Rock.  The event includes post race entertainment by a live band, expo and lunch for all participants. 

Run and Hike Course        
Starting from Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek, the hike and run course will travel through Diablo Foothills Regional Park, up the slopes of Mount Diablo State Park’s Pine Ridge and back to the starting point through Pine Canyon.  The run-courses are challenging (some steep climbs, descents and creek crossings), are well marked and will feature aid stations.  Families can hike any portion of the 10K course and visit interpretive stations along the way. 

Participants
Runners and hikers of all ages are welcome.  Runners and hikers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Date/Time/Place
November 7, 2010.  Start at 9:00 am.  Registration opens at 7:30 am. Start at Castle Rock Park, 1700 Castle Rock Road in Walnut Creek.

Collector Shirts
All registrants will receive a free T-shirt and lunch after the race.  Family participants receive T-shirts for two kids and lunch for all.  Sizes are limited - while supplies last.
