REGISTRATION
The Diablo Trail Ride offers a 25
mile limited distance and 50 mile endurance ride.
Starting and finishing at EBRPD's Castle Rock Park on
Castle Rock Road in Walnut Creek. Course will travel through Diablo
Foothills, Shell Ridge Open Space and Mt. Diablo State
Park. Ride Manager: Bob Marx; Ride Secretary: Amara

Ride Participants
Equestrians of all ages are welcome. Equestrians
under 16 must be accompanied by an a sponsor. Limit of
150 registrants.Ride Course
Starting from EBRPD's Castle Rock Park on Castle Rock
Road in Walnut Creek and ascending to the summit of Mt. Diablo,
the course will travel through Diablo Foothills Regional
Park, up the slopes of Mount Diablo State Park’s Pine
Ridge, to Juniper Campground and back to the starting
point. The course is challenging, some steep
climbs, descents and creek crossings, and well marked.
Camp
Camp is at Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek.
This is a no frills camp that
is conveniently located near urban areas with easy
access to stores. There is horse water available, but
for the most part you need to plan on bringing what you
need. There will be no camp fires or smoking allowed. Parking is
very
limited so if you can trailer-pool then please do so and
plan on parking conservatively. Across the street, the
Leap of Faith Barn, will have stalls available for $25

Date/Time/Place
June 21, 2008. Start at 5:30 am. Registration
opens on Friday, June 20 with pre-vet check between 3 pm
and 5 pm and mandatory pre-event ride briefing at 7 pm.
Fees
Registration fee for 25 mile is $75, for 50 mile is
$125, for Juniors is $75. If you are not an AERC
member there is an additional fee of $15. AHA
championship ride is additional $25. Pre-ride
dinner ticket is $10. After June 14 please add $10
late fee. Fees are not
transferable and non-refundable but will become a
tax-deductible donation.
Awards
All finishers will receive a T-shirt. Awards for Top
Finishers and Best Condition. |
