Join property monitor Fred Massell on a leisurely stroll, at turns a cross-country ramble, on Save Mount Diablo’s Oak Hill Lane property. Discover native plants and wildlife, and enjoy panoramic views in canyons and on ridges of this 40-acre, park-like property. We’ll be wandering through the oak woodlands on deer trails and fire roads, with frequent stops to enjoy and explore the woodlands, grassland, and chaparral of this diverse landscape. This is an easy to moderate hike with mostly gentle hills and one steep but short climb towards the end. Poison oak is abundant but easily avoided. Be sure to dress in layers and wear sturdy boots or shoes; bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a snack.
